Anti-Human trafficking seminar - Woodbery Down Baptist Church

A message from Woodberry Down Baptist Church...

Dear All,

I want to let you know we are hosting a seminar Tuesday 8th May at 7pm here at Woodberry Down on the subject of anti human trafficking - specifically women trafficking!

The speakers, Amy and Jenny are part of the YWAM megacities campaign in London this year - for more information about the speakers - resume is attached.

Amy Garis and Jenny Ellis work with the ministry, Priceless, in Perth, Australia (which Jenny started and leads). Jenny has been in Youth with a Mission for over 2 decades, while Amy has been a part of Youth with a Mission for about 10 years. Both have extensive training through major organisations in the area of ending human trafficking and reaching out to prostitutes. Jenny has been instrumental in helping to develop a city wide strategy against Human Trafficking in Perth, while Amy has a lot of experience working to reach prostitutes in countries such as Australia, the United States, South Africa and Holland.

Their focus through their seminars will be to help the faith/community groups to engage and develop strategies to answer the problem of prostitution and human trafficking. We've met many in London who are aware of prostitution going on in their area, but don't know how to help, some even find the challenge overwhelming. Amy and Jenny are an excellent resource to help churches and communities find practical, simple ways to reach out and show the love of Christ to those involved in prostitution.

They will be coming to London three times this year. Their first trip is to hold seminars to help bring awareness and develop practical ideas to get involved at a local community level. They arrive at the end of this month and are available for seminars from the 26th of April to the 10th of May

Their second trip will be around the Olympic period where they will seek to draw together interested people they meet during their first trip, to have an outreach experience in local communities. Jenny and Amy would then come back later to help further equip those who want to develop long term ministries.

Please let me know if you will be able to attend and of any other community groups we can invite to the seminar.

Kind regards

Charles Mugenyi
